Our Mission
Munlochy Animal Aid is dedicated to rescuing and caring for a wide variety of animals in need. From dogs, cats, and small animals to horses, sheep, pigs, and hens, we provide a safe haven for all. Our commitment extends to wildlife such as hedgehogs, wild rabbits, and birds. At Munlochy Animal Aid, our primary goal is to offer treatment and compassion to every animal that comes through our doors.
Practical information-

We are open everyday of the week between 10am and 12 noon for the public. Dog walking starts earlier at 9am and finishes at 11.30am. Our address is in the footer of every page and is linked here. If you wish to come in at a later time then you must make an appointment by contacting our email address seen here or texting Iona on 07740237728. Any inquiries can also be made by sending us an email and one of our team members will get back to you asap.

We have a donation box outside of our gates which is always open and you can leave your donations safely in there. We do our best to empty it everyday however if it is full then you can always place your goodies beside the box and we will collect them in the mornings.

To adopt a pet have a look at our current animals linked here and if you find what you're looking for, you can then fill out an application form and we will get back to you. Alternatively you can pop in to see the many different animals available during our open times between 10am and 12 noon.

How applications work-

When you fill out an application form we will receive it and read through it as soon as possible. We will contact you back either suggesting the pet/s that we think is/are suitable for you or unfortunately telling you that you may have to wait just a little longer for your perfect companion.

If we do suggest a pet that suits, then we may enquire about additional information or for you to come in. We would ask you to come in if it was a dog that we thought was suitable to ensure that before going any further with the process that both you and your potential pet got on. This also applies if you had another dog, we would want to ensure that they liked each other before sending you home with them.
Handing in an animal-

We want to assure people that not every single pet we get handed in is abused or neglected. We watch some people go through unimaginable pain whilst handing their pet in, and for those we have the utmost empathy. We understand the difficult situations that people end up in and although there are times when it's clear people don't care, our team is aware of the unfortunate circumstances that lead people to handing in a beloved animal.
We will not judge you for giving your pet up in your time of need. We will do our best to support you and we understand what it's like to lose one of our best friends.

Depending on the situation we can work with you to help rehome your pet from your house to prevent them from coming into our centre. We are usually at full capacity and have to prioritise those who need it the most but we do our best to help everybody with limited resources.
We take in animals for so many different reasons not just because they were handed in:
-Some are strays
-Some are needing a place to stay while their owner is in hospital
-Some for a change of circumstances e.g a family member has died.

Our team works tirelessly to give these animals the love and affection they deserve and to try and rehome them to the best place as quick as possible.

Make a Difference
Donate
Your donations play a crucial role in supporting our rescue efforts and providing essential care to animals awaiting their forever homes. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us make a significant impact on the lives of these animals. We also help with vet bills for pets in desperate need of care when their owners finances can't cover the cost. This on top of the centres vet bills, food, maintenance and other running costs uses a huge portion of our limited funds.
Saving one animal will not change the world, but for that one animal, their world will change forever.
