About
Munlochy Animal Aid is a dedicated animal rescue centre committed to finding loving homes for dogs, cats, small animals and birds. We provide care, rehabilitation, and a safe haven for animals in need. Our mission is to promote animal welfare and ensure every animal receives the love and attention they deserve.

Dogs
Man's Best Friend

We do our best to provide a secure routine and joyful time for the dogs in our care until they can get a permanent home. They get outside for walks every single day and we try to take them to the dog parks as much as possible. We take in dogs of a wide variety of personalities. Our team works hard with the reactive and difficult dogs to try and help them see that the world isn't as scary as they think it is, and find them a suitable home that will accommodate their extra needs. We believe that compassion goes a long way when it comes to our canine residents and often find they haven't been given enough of it before.
Cats
Feline Companions

We provide care for cats both looking for homes and feral cats who often come in either pregnant or with kittens. We try to let our cats stretch their legs by roaming about inside whilst their temporary housing is getting cleaned. We provide them with toys and scratching posts to enrich their stay with us along with yummy treats which they love. We also have a cat run for the feral cats where they are safe and able to live out their lives in comfort. Much like dogs we get cats handed in that are not too happy to be with us. We work hard with them so they know that they are in a safe place, we love to see their personality shine after.
Small Animals
Tiny Treasures

We often have a plethora of small animals in our care. We have to adapt to the right cage and supplies needed to enrich their lives and our team is constantly researching and learning about what more we can do to ensure the best quality of life for our tiny friends.
Often times when people purchase small animals from pet shops they are not provided with adequate information about the proper care and effort that these animals need. The shops sell products that are unsafe or not up to the standard that is expected for our furry friends and label them as if they are. For example you may buy a cage for your gerbil from a pet shop that is 'XL' but in fact that cage doesn't even meet the minimum legal requirements for space. It is not your fault if you are being fed this misinformation but we do hope that you can check out our suggested guideline for animal care to ensure that your little one is thriving. Our team works hard to reverse the negative effects done to our little animals and show them how nice life can truly be for them.
Wildlife and Other
Nature's Guardians

We often take in injured hedgehogs or wild birds and nurse them back to health before safely reintroducing them to the wild again. They get a taste of domestic life and some decide to stay. We have heartwarming stories of tortoises living in homes and birds finally getting back to their natural habitat after breaking a wing.
We have lots of farm animals as permanent residents who get to thrive in our fields. Our team works hard with limited time to provide luxury care for our horses, some living out their retirement years. We work with these animals to get them used to trusting humans again, letting their true selves surface and letting themselves find comfort in our warm embraces and silly antics. We love them all with open arms even if they decide to behave like toddlers. The staff at Munlochy are dedicated in ensuring that these animals are treated with all the affection and care to make up for the rough years a lot of them have had.
